Nigeria politics

STUPIDITY ON THE SIDE OF POLITICIANS AND GULLIBILITY ON THE SIDE OF CITIZENS

In Nigeria it has become well known that when people seek for power they device every means to win the hearts of everyone especially those common men in the streets and you see them engage in some stupid acts which will continue to make you ask yourself if these politicians are really in their right state of mind

When a politician attends function being organised by people of his calibre who hails from a particular community, the people of the community are meant to believe that the politician has them at heart

In Nigeria a politician contesting for power stops by the road side and buy goods from good sellers, it becomes a sign of humility and kindness and when the leaves, those people there still live in abject poverty

In Nigeria a politician publicises the numerous traditional and religious titles he had taken as prerequisite for getting to the office he is contesting for

In Nigeria a politician who has being in power for many years fails to deliver any meaningful project and when the next election is coming around, they either bring construction equipment or promise  to embark on some projects and then urge the people to vote for them and so their votes become the condition for them to get the dividends of governance

In Nigeria, politicians contest telling people that voting them in power will help integrate their state with the government at the central because the candidate and the government at the center hail from the same party

In Nigeria, a particular party comes up and ask the citizens to vote not necessarily based on the achievements of the political party and their candidate but based on the flimsy reason that the party is made up mostly by members of that particular ethnic group and so it becomes the duty of the suffering and marginalised citizens to preserve and keep the party in power even when they have nothing to show for it
